What is the true count in blackjack?
True count (TC) is the running count divided by the number of decks still to be dealt. It answers “how rich is each remaining deck in tens and aces?” A running count of +8 with four decks left is only +2 per deck; the same +8 with one deck left is a much stronger +8 true count. Balanced systems — Hi-Lo, Hi-Opt I/II, Omega II, Zen, Wong Halves — bet, take insurance, and schedule deviations off the true count. Unbalanced systems (KO, REKO, Red 7) bake deck number into the initial running count instead, so they never divide.

How do I convert running count to true count in a 6-deck shoe?
Estimate decks remaining (cards left ÷ 52), then divide. Mid-shoe in a six-deck game with about three decks left and a Hi-Lo running count of +6 is a true count of +2. Anvil Table can estimate decks remaining from cards seen, or you can set it manually. Open the Hi-Lo trainer on a 6-deck shoe and watch the TC line update as you tap.
When you should not divide
If you are on KO, REKO, or Red 7, do not compute a true count. Those pages explain the pivot. Switching those modes in the trainer hides the TC readout on purpose.

FAQ
What is the true count in Wong Halves?
Same formula: running count ÷ decks remaining. Halves just makes the running count fractional.
